T’ai Chi Ch’uan has existed since
ancient times as a health exercise.
Based on natural laws, it teaches relaxation,
erases tension, and boosts energy. It is a series
of quiet, supple movements, the quiet to
cultivate the spirit, the supple to cultivate the
body. A gentle exercise performed in a calm
and peaceful manner, it is suitable for young
and old alike. Instruction is offered in the
Yang Style Short Form as developed by
Professor Cheng Man-Ch’ing.

An ancient Chinese exercise for health and relaxation, T'ai Chi is a series of quiet, slow movements which cultivate the spirit and nurture the body. Beginning instruction in the principles and postures of the 37 movement Yang Style Short Form as developed by Cheng Man-Ch'ing. $6.00 for shoes payable to instructor at first class.

Instructors:
Len and Ellen Kennedy have between them over
45 years experience in T’ai Chi. They have both
studied with and received permission to teach T’ai
Chi from Robert Smith, first Western student of the
late T'ai Chi master Professor Cheng Man-Ch'ing.
Additionally, they have studied with Benjamin Lo,
Professor Cheng’s senior student and internationally
known teacher. They both continue their study
of this ancient art with Lenzie Williams, senior
student of Benjamin Lo.

Location

All classes are held in the Hall of Mirrors (Glen Echo Dance Studio) at Glen Echo National Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo, Maryland. The Dance Studio is fully heated and air conditioned. Maximum class size is 25 students. Clean, soft-soled shoes and comfortable clothes are required. Please: no tights, jeans, bikers' shorts or bare feet.

Glen Echo National Park is located at the intersection of MacArthur Blvd. and Goldsboro Road. From the District take Massachusetts Avenue or River Road to Goldsboro Road and turn left. From the Beltway (495), take the Glen Echo Exit and follow the signs to MacArthur Blvd. & Glen Echo Park.
